Laurel has been a true worker this year, as last. She arrived fresh and ready to play in her freshman year, overcoming all odds to make the varsity team. Though not a natural basketball player, Laurel is an able listener and a true student of the sport. Often on the bench she is seen asking the coaches for feedback on what other players are doing. On the bus to an away game she will sneak up to the front and talk to the coaches about plays and movement.
Laurel has grown from a rather timid ninth grader to a solid support player on the wing and low post positions. Though physically small for a post, she uses mental engagement to position herself among the giants quite well. Progressively she has moved up the roster to where she can now be seen with a good deal of playing time off the bench.
When not shooting baskets, Laurel can be seen running the lower field with the varsity soccer program in the first season.
